A community owned society

Whistlewood Common Limited is a Registered Society under the Co-operatives and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014

(formerly an Industrial Provident Society (for the benefit of the community) under the Industrial and Provident Societies Act 1965)

The Society operates on a not-for-profit basis for the benefit of the community.

The Society is registered with the FCA (Financial Conduct Authority).

Members are drawn from shareholders investing in the society – shares cost £1 and the minimum share purchase is £50.  Each member has one vote, regardless of the number of shares they hold.

Whistlewood Common Limited was initiated by Melbourne Area Transition, a community group looking at practical ways to make the area more resilient in the face of peak oil, climate change and economic uncertainty.

Today there’s general volunteering from 1pm. Youths at 2pm we’ll be treating the kids to pizza and teaching them how to use the wood fired pizza oven. If you want to join us bring pizza dough toppings etc. Also lots of soft fruit to share bring a punnet! Can you put blackcurrants on pizza? See MoreSee Less
